| Written request to resummon House by Daya Perera At the Party Leaders Meeting convened by Speaker Joseph Michael Perera which was held in Parliament yesterday, it was decided to make a written request to the Speaker under the signatures of a majority of Parliamentarians, before 12.00 noon today calling upon the Speaker to resummon Parliament before November 19. The Speaker mentioned that this meeting was convened by him in keeping with the law, in view of the President's prorogation of Parliament till November 19. People's Alliance and the JVP did not attend this meeting convened by the Speaker. Leaders of the UNP, SLMC, TULF, CWC, ACTC and Up Country People's Front took part. |
