Molly K. Williamson, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia, will be in Colombo on November 13 and 14. states a US Embassy press release. During her visit, Williamson will meet with officials in the Sri Lankan government, as well as with business representatives and chambers of commerce members, to learn more about U.S.-Sri Lankan commercial relations and explore avenues for continued improvement in the business climate in Sri Lanka, it adds. A career member of the American foreign service, Ms. William joined the Department of Commerce to serve as Deputy Assistant Secretary (Middle East and North Africa) in 1999. Since April 2003 she has been Deputy Assistant Secretary for Africa, the Middle East and South Asia, where she directs the Department's activities on trade, commercial, compliance and investment policies with the countries of the regions and provides support for improving market access for US companies as well as compliance with U.S. trade agreements. Molly Williamson is a native of California, the press release concludes. |
