Kabeer meets Rajarata university students

Tertiary Education and Training Minister Kabeer Hashim met a delegation of the Rajarata University Students Association at his Ministry Secretariat recently to discuss some of the students' requirements.

Provision of practical training facilities at the Puliyankulama Agricultural Farm and Seeppukulama Animal Husbandry Farm, completion of construction work of the Agricultural Faculty Laboratory building and acquisition of the Saliyapura Teacher Training College for the use of the Rajarata University were the three main issues that were discussed and decided upon at this meeting.

With regard to the first issue, Minister Hashim agreed to arrange a discussion with Agricultural Minister S.B.Dissanayake with the participation of Rajarata University Vice Chancellor,the Registrar and other officials. On the second issue, the Minister agreed to obtain Rs.5 million to complete the construction work.

The University Staff pointed out that University's present Agricultural Faculty premises can be released to conduct the activities of the Youth Brigade. Deputy Minister Sagala Ratnayake agreed to discuss the matter with the officials concerned and give them a reply soon.
