DrukAir Agents meet in Bhutan DrukAir - Royal Bhutan Airlines, the National Carrier for Bhutan recently held its Inaugural Meeting for their Representative Agents. The meeting was held in Paro, Bhutan, chaired by Managing Director DrukAir Sangay Khandu with top management of DrukAir was present. The meeting was followed by a Presentation of Certificates of Appreciation, being awarded to all agents for their efforts and contribution to Sales Growth and promotion of DrukAir. Hemas Air Services the agents for Drukair in Sri Lanka was represented at the meeting by Channa Mendis - Manager, DrukAir/Colombo. Khandu, also outlined future plans, which is to take delivery of 2 A319 aircraft by October '04. The airline intends to operate such routes as Paro - Delhi - Dubai once the new aircraft joins the fleet. DrukAir currently operates from Paro to six cities in five countries, namely Bangkok in Thailand, Delhi and Kolkata in India, Dhaka in Bangladesh, Kathmandu in Nepal and Yangon in Myanmar. Bhutan, referred to by Bhutanese as Druk Yul - The Land of the Thunder Dragon, is located in the eastern Himalayas, bordered by China in the north and the Indian states of Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Assam and West Bengal in the East, West and South. |
