Hakeem to receive LTTE proposals in London by Kumarasiri Prasad, Airport correspondent The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) will be officially handed over the LTTE proposals for an Interim Council in England where an SLMC delegation is now on a visit, SLMC leader Rauf Hakeem said. Hakeem is leading a delegation to study the Scot and Irish system of power devolution at the invitation of the British Foreign Minister. Speaking to the Daily News at the Bandaranaike International Airport prior to his departure, Hakeem said the SLMC would need about two months to prepare its response to the LTTE proposals vis-a-vis Muslim representation in the proposed Interim Adminstration. He said the Government and the LTTE have already agreed to a separate Muslim representation at the peace talks. He said if attempts were made by a third party or any interested party to change the status quo, the Norwegian Government would have to take note of such a situation and be answerable. |
