Colts CC win Singer trophy

Colombo Colts CC made dramatic turn-around to win the Singer/WCA Trophy after losing 4 wickets for 11 runs in the annual tournament conducted by the Women's Cricket Association of Sri Lanka and sponsored by Singer.

Colts who won the toss elected to bat first after a gruelling series of 20 matches when they beat the much fancied Slimline SC. With six World Cup players in their team, Slimline put up a very disappointing performance when Colts bundled them for a paltry 49 runs in 22 overs at Moors SC Grounds.

Slimline and Colts who moved into the finals were evenly blamed but non of the players displayed any form except Indika Kanganamage who captured 5 for 21 for Colts. Sanjaya Karunaratne, Merchandising Manager - Singer was the Chief Guest and distributed the awards.
