Splendid double by Jehan Mubarak

Tuesday 21 October was indeed a memorable day for Sri Lanka cricketer Jehan Mubarak who is touring Kenya with the Sri Lanka 'A' team, writes T. D. S. A. Dissanayaka.

While he was scoring a match-winning century in the second one-day game, the University of Colombo announced that he had graduated with a Second Class (Upper Division) in the Bachelor of Science examination. He offered Chemistry, Physics and Applied Mathematics as his subjects.

A superb all round product of Royal College, Colombo he shone as a cricketer, swimmer and scholar. He has indeed lived upto the ideals of the Royal College song: "To learn of books and men and learn to play the game."
