Indian cricketer Satvinder Singh here by Richard Dwight Here in the island on a short visit is A. G. Satvinder Singh, the former Tamil Nadu cricketer, who in the years gone by came over frequently to Sri Lanka, to participate in the Gopalan Trophy matches. Satvinder Singh hails from an illustrious cricketing family, with his father Ram Singh and brothers Kripal Singh and Milka Singh having had the distinction of playing for India. Apart from his interest in cricket, Satvinder Singh, is also the senior Vice President - Marketing of Lucas T.V.S. Madras and, on arrival here was met by M. Balasubramaniam, the Managing Director Klevenberg (Pvt) Ltd. the distributor for Lucas. Incidentally Balasubramaniam too in his day was a fine sportsman who as an athlete excelled as a sprinter and a fine long jumper for S. Thomas' College, Mt. Lavinia. atvinder Singh while here proposes to visit the Sri Lanka Transport Board, the Defences Services the local Tata Distributors and other dealers. He will also make use of this opportunity to exchange pleasantries with cricketing friends Anura Tennekoon, Ranjit Fernando, T. B. Kehelgamuwa and many others. |
