They gave their lives so that we can live. The heroic men and women who made the supreme sacrifice in the defence of the Motherland will always live in our hearts, but it never hurts to say ‘Thank you’ in a special way. Wear a poppy or place a poppy wreath on your car to show that you remember the fallen heroes with gratitude and care for the heroes who live with physical and mental scars of wars past and present. Here, volunteers of the Sri Lanka Ex-Servicemen’s Association arrange poppy flowers and wreaths for distribution islandwide during the Poppy Week.

LTTE to propose home grown interim rule

The LTTE in its counter proposals has focused on the conflict resolution process in various parts of the world and emphasised interim arrangements suited to the Sri Lankan context, LTTE Political Chief Thamilselvam has told Norwegian Foreign Minister Jan Petersen.

LTTE hands back 13 conscripted children

The LTTE despite their continuous denial of child conscription yesterday handed over 13 children, including the four children recruited to the LTTE in Valachchenai to UNICEF office in Batticaloa, the Colombo office of UNICEF said yesterday.
