An Indian film stunt-director who attempted to take away three pistols in his luggage, via IC 584 flight to India on Wednesday was detected at the Bandaranaike International Airport security check-in counter.

Fredrick Naveen Raj, 43, of Chennai was granted personal bail of Rs. 500,000 and cash bail of Rs. 25,000 by Negombo Magistrate M. N. Burhan on Thursday.

Raj was engaged in stunt-services of the local film One-shot with several scenes shot in the jungles of Anuradhapura recently.

The Magistrate observed the 'B' report filed by Katunayake police had inaccuracies. When police make investigations, they must give the benefit of the doubt to the suspects, he said.

The Counsel appearing for the suspect, Attorney Deepal Perera said the pistols were 'Dummy' used in the film industry. Two letters from the Film Corporation and local film producers were produced before the magistrate.

The Magistrate ordered the pistol to be sent to the Government-Analyst for an early report and put off the case until October 23.
