British group here to identify positive areas of investment by Murali Jayadeva Colin Adams, Chief Executive, BCCB and Mike Connor, Head of South Asia Unit, Trade Partners UK told the Daily News that the British Consultants and Construction Bureau is now on a 'scoping mission' in Sri Lanka, to identify positive areas of investment and they would initially opt for investment in power, energy and transportation sectors. BCCB, Colin said is the major private sector association covering all British exporting consultancy sectors working overseas. BCCB has a membership of 300 firms with 60,000 professionals representing 116 professional disciplines covering virtually every country. The group will assess the scope of opportunities in Sri Lanka which would match UK industry capabilities. In view of the ongoing peace process and confidence building efforts that are under way this is an opportune time to invest in Sri Lanka and take the burden off the government sector, he said. |
