Frouse Saheed for China Frouse Saheed, probably the elder statesman in billiards and snooker today, has been rewarded for his contributions to the game by being picked to go to Jiangmen, China for the annual meeting of the International Billiards and Snooker to be held soon. Saheed who was one of the top players in his time has held many posts here and abroad in the cue game. To his credit is the introduction of billiards, snooker and pool in the Olympics and the Asian Games. While attending the meeting he will tap every avenue to secure coaching equipment, billiards tables and everything else possible for the progress of the game, player and the administration here. According to Saheed the game here is on the correct course for progress with the election of Dunstan Senanayake as president of the Billiards and Snooker Association. He will also endeavour to bid for the holding of a World Billiards and Snooker Championships here when meeting with other delegates during the AGM in China. During his career in the cue game Saheed has held the posts of President of the BASA, former Chairman of the world body, Director of sports world body, and has been an official and delegate for over 30 countries. Billiards and Snooker in the country is lucky to have a personality of the calibre of Saheed who is a go getter. He is now vice patron of B & SA. |
