Vajpayee wraps up Thailand visit

CHIANG MAI, Thailand, Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee departed from this northern city yesterday after a four-day visit to Thailand which included the signing of a landmark free trade agreement. Thailand is the third country to reach a free trade deal with India after Nepal and Sri Lanka, while India is the second country to sign such a pact with Thailand after China.

Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike's 3rd death anniversary

Free medical clinics and distribution of uniform materials to visually handicapped were held on October 10 at the Islamic Centre for the Physically Handicapped, Thihariya to mark the 3rd death anniversary of Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike.

Sri Lanka Nidahas Kantha Sanvidanaya organised Aloka Poojas at the Horagolla Bandaranaike Samadhi while mid-day meals were given to the inmates of Hilda Obeysekera Elders Home, Watupitiwala to confer merits on late Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike.
