Exide batteries exported to India

Sri Lanka's largest battery manufacturer - Associated Battery Manufacturers Ltd, a member of the Browns Group, has commenced exporting Exide batteries to India. The company also manufactures batteries under the brand names Lucas, Dagenite and Selco.

Commenting on the export markets, ABM's General Manager R.M.D. Bandara said that it was a victory for the company to penetrate into the Indian market considering the large number of manufacturers there.

He said that the local company was adhering to the industrial standards of Exide Industries Ltd of India. He said that it was also a privilege for the company to be exporting batteries to India at a time when Sri Lanka was importing batteries.
