by Shirajiv Sirimane

The export manager of Hansgrohe Germany A. Krebbs who visited Sri Lanka recently was pleased with the success achieved by Access Agencies within a short period of five years.

He also explained that they had surpassed the targets set and is confident that they will continue to do so in the months to follow.

"Hansgrohe tap ware products have recorded a growth of 120% in the first six months of this year. This is among for the best in the region. "In 2003, Access Agencies has generated a turnover of approximately Rs. 35 million over a six-month period through Hansgrohe orders alone.""

He said that both local and foreign investors who were reluctant to invest in Sri Lanka during the last 18 months have invested heavily specially in the apartment complexes and hotels industry. "New hotels have come up while most of the leading hotels have gone in for refurbishment after the peace process."

According to General Manager Sales and Marketing, Rohan Jayasinghe this record growth has been achieved mainly due to new constructions and refurbishment projects, which were initiated after the Peace process.

Jayasinghe said that bulk of the hotels, Apartment complexes and house builders believe in the theory that building materials once fixed should be forgotten and this was the main reason for them to insist on Hansgrohe products.

Jayasinghe said that within a short period of four years they have been able to provide products to over 56 projects and these include 20 apartment complexes within the greater Colombo area. "We attribute this success to the superior quality of our products and we believe that quality products must be matched by quality service. This is why we have a service center headed by a qualified engineer to ensure all client queries are met."

Jayasinghe said that the last quarter of the year too seem very bright for them as the construction boom seem to increase and their products are becoming more popular.

"Hansgrohe has always been committed to continuously improving its product lines by developing designs to cater to the changing demand and needs of our customers." "We have successfully provided Hansgrohe tap ware to 20 luxury apartment complexes. The skyline of Colombo has been revolutionized by many of these buildings."

Access also markets a products ranges from Sanitaryware to Solar heating systems to water pumps and their branches are located in Negombo, Colpetty, Rajagiriya, Anuradhapura, Nawala and Kandy.

Hansgrohe is a company that has a history that dates back to 1901. Klause Grohe who is currently the chairman at Hansgrohe is the son of the founder of this establishment. It is the only family business owned by the Grohe family.
