Premier outlines two approaches for IA talks

by Chatura Vidyaratne

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, at a pre-Cabinet meeting last night, emphasised that the Government must go to the negotiating table with the LTTE either on the original PA suggestion to find an ultimate solution and then go for talks on Interim Administration (IA) for the North-East or on the LTTE proposals that are to be forwarded in response to the Government's suggestions made to them. The Premier said that even if the intended LTTE proposals were to contain PA concepts of power sharing in the spheres of police and lands, even then the Government is prepared to discuss with the LTTE.
