Lemonade Trophy starts this weekend The schools Six-a-side cricket tournament for the Lemonade Trophy sponsored by Ceylon Cold Stores Ltd. (CCS), manufacturers of Elephant Lemonade will start at 8.00 a.m. on Sept. 27 and 28 at Campbell Park. 24 schools will participate this year with live broadcasts being carried by SLBC sports channel and a live telecast by Rupavahini's Channel Eye. The matches will be played out in the following manner: Holy Cross College, Kalutara vs Kingwood College, Kandy, the winners going on to play S. Thomas' College, Royal College vs St. Peter's College, the winners going on to play D. S. Senanayake College, Polonnaruwa District Schools vs Dharmapala MV, Pannipitiya, the winners to play Lumbini MV, Isipathana College vs Thurstan College, the winners playing Zahira College, De Mazenod College, Kandana vs Joseph Vas, Wennappuwa, the winners going on to play Kalutara MV, Nalanda College vs St. Benedict's College, the winners playing Wesley College, Raddoluwa MV vs Ananda College with the winners playing Batticaloa District Schools and Prince of Wales College v St. Joseph's College, the winners playing President's College. The award ceremony will take place on the 28 Sunday at 6.00 p.m. at Campbell Park itself with Managing Director CCS Sumithra Gunasekera as chief guest. |
