Leading supermarket chains forge partnership with ACNielsen retail panel

In November 1997, ACNielsen Lanka, then known as ORG-MARG SMART launched Sri Lanka's first and only Retail Measurement Service (RMS). The cornerstone of ACNielsen's business, Retail Measurement Services is the industry standard for quality data on product movement, market share, distribution, price and other market-sensitive information in more than 80 countries across six continents, a media release said.

ACNielsen Lanka's Retail Audit covers the traditional FMCG and the Hardware trade tracking over 55 product categories representing all traditional trade channels across the country. Mid 2003, saw three leading supermarket chains in the country join the ACN Retail Audit for measuring and understanding the performance and dynamics of product sales in their supermarkets.

In order to service the supermarket, ACNielsen Lanka has introduced, the Spaceman merchandising service, the Category Adjacency Solution for today and tomorrow. Proper adjacency planning provides the basis for making category-specific merchandising decisions. With the Spaceman Store Suite, aisle space is allocated based on fact-not intuition. The Spaceman Store Suite is a powerful set of easy-to-use category adjacency solutions that gives you the most profit for every square foot and the tools to grow for the future.
