Saddaham Charikawa - A journey for peace and reconciliation

A statue of Our Lady of Madhu which was blessed by the Holy Father, Pope John Paul II last December will be taken to the North commencing on August 8 and culminating in the deposition of this statue in a sacred shrine on August 14. All arrangements for this Spiritual Journey - "Saddaham Charikawa" - are currently being finalized.

This sacred venture will leave the Fatima Church, Deans Road, Colombo 10, on the 8th August at 8.00 a.m. and will be exposed to the prayerful veneration of the Christian faithful as it passes through the Churches at Wattala, Ja-Ela, Negombo, Puttalam, Anuradhapura, Medawachchiya and Vavuniya.

What is exceptional in this "Spiritual Journey" is that it is being organized as an inter-religious initiative and the statue will be devotionally greeted at various temples, kovils and mosques along the way.
