Billboard to project Lanka's world-class apparel The sub committee on Image Building and Marketing on Sri Lankan Apparel installed a large hoarding at the Colombo International Airport to project the image of Sri Lanka as a world-class manufacturer of apparel and as an attractive destination for prospective buyers. Buyers have expressed great satisfaction of Sri Lanka's apparel products. It was felt that what buyers say of Sri Lanka may have a greater impact that advertising quotes from two leading buyers from the US and EU have been used as endorsements to display Sri Lanka's capabilities to focus the attention of buyers and visitors. They are: MAST Industries - Leading buyer in the US, one of the largest contract manufacturers, importers and distributors of apparel for men women and children, MAST delivers over 200 million garments a year to leading fashion brands. NEXT - Leading buyer with 330 stores in the UK and 49 stores overseas. NEXT has an exclusive co-ordinated collection of stylish clothes for men women and children. NEXT clothes are exclusively designed to offer consistency of style, quality and value for money with a contemporary fashion edge. The billboard also carries the names of the leading brands manufactured in Sri Lanka for export, such as Marks & Spencer, Van Heusen, Nike, Calvin Klein and Victoria's Secret. In addition there will be eight other Boards set up in the vicinity of National Hoarding by exporters with their own advertisements, the Export Development Board said in a release. The National Apparel Hoarding has been erected at the baggage belt No. 2 Arrivals launch. |
