Janashakthi ties up with eChannelling

by Murali Jayadeva

Channelling consultation in this country poses many problems. Patients are expected to join the queue as early as 2 a.m. to obtain a number within the first 25 if they wish to see their preferred specialist. He has to call at the hospital with this number in the night to see the doctor. By the time the patient returns home after consultation, it will be midnight. This procedure makes him more sick and more feeble. Time, money and energy of the ailing person are meaninglessly exhausted by this exercise.

It is more so if the patient is from a distant town or village in the provinces. Travelling, temporary lodging in Colombo will be time consuming, involving unnecessary expenditure and puts the patient in extreme discomfort. Janashakthi, committed to serve people with creative and progressive solutions focused on this perennial problem by forging an alliance with eChannelling, the first e-Commerce Company in the country, to find a near solution to get over the hurdles in Channelling communications said Trevon Mirando, of Janashakthi Ltd at the launch last week at the Awaranaya.

He said, "in future if any patient wants to obtain an appointment with his preferred medical specialist from anywhere at any time in a cost effective manner, this arrangement we have launched will save him from all the hassle he had to face up to now in getting that appointment. "An office worker or a minor employee need not take leave from his workplace nor incur a host of other associated expenses to obtain a confirmed appointment. Janashakthis' partnership with eChannelling will put an end to all the hassle experienced by the patients hitherto.

"This arrangement will create a facility where any patient from any part of the country could simply walk into any one of the extensive network of 93 Janashakthi branches islandwide, indicate their preference by looking at the specialist schedule, choose the day more convenient to him and make the payment for the consultation. This facility is available to consult the desired specialist available at Nawaloka, Durdans, Asiri or Oasis Hospitals.

The significant feature of this arrangement is that it is not confined to only Janashakthi clients but also open to the public as well.
