Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Johnston Fernando yesterday appointed Director General of Sports, Milton Amarasinghe to the Executive Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka. The appointment has been made under the powers vested in the Minister under the National Sports Law of 1973 (41) Gazette Notification 167/16 and special gazette of November 19, 1981.

Amarasinghe is one of the most senior administrative officers and has been the Director General of Sports for the last four years. It was under his authority and supervision that the BCCSL had two AGMs to replace respective Interim Councils. (D.W.)
