Dialog launches fibre Optic Internet Backbone for WTC Dialog Internet yesterday launched a state-of-the-art Fibre Optic Internet Backbone at the World Trade Centre. Thus WTC became the country's first intelligent building soars into an advanced state of technological excellence. Tenants of the WTC can now enjoy 'Internet bandwidth on tap' provided through the state of the art Fibre Optic backbone which connects both towers of the WTC, with a total of 80 floors of commercial floor space. The new infrastructure provides Internet access to tenants at any bandwidth they require, literally at the touch of a button. The WTC will be connected to large Internet Bandwidth resources provided through Dialog Internet's Earth Station and Gateway infrastructure. The active fibre network also facilitates Optical Ethernet facilities to tenants providing convenient intra-building networking facilities. The infrastructure paves the way for a myriad of high-speed applications riding on optical Ethernet. Hussein Cassim, Deputy Chairman, Overseas Realty (Ceylon) Limited expressed full confidence in this advanced dimension of technological advancement. MTN Networks CEO Dr Hans Wijayasuriya said that the successful completion of the WTC Fibre backbone will provide a new dimension to the corporate internet service provision in Sri Lanka. " We will continue to add value to the solutions we provide through the introduction of the latest technology backed by reliable and efficient technical support", he said. |
