"Therefore this Interim Council system is not a new concept to the people in this country as Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe too followed the proposal made by the President. The Minister also said that the International Community has already accepted the peace process which immensely helped to develop the country economically and said that this was clearly reflected with the huge amount of US $ 4.5 billion granted at the Japan Donor Conference meeting. He emphasised that the President too accepted the speedy development activities being carried out by the Government under the able leadership of Ranil Wickremesinghe. "Therefore, the President will never dissolve Parliament under such circumstances." Talking about the pact between the PA and JVP, the Minister stressed that this will never materialise as the members of both parties are having different political philosophies. |
