The “Nawa Dekma” Trade and Education exhibition organised by the Ministry of Industries was held at the Mahaweli Stadium, Embilipitiya on Saturday under the patronage of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. PNB lands prize catch:

Local king-pin of int'l drug ring arrested

The Police Narcotics Bureau made a prize catch over the weekend when they netted in a Sri Lankan suspected to be the local king-pin of an International drug ring which supplied a network of distributing centres in Sri Lanka. The suspect was arrested while he was returning from India by Officials of the Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB) assisted by Grandpass Police.

PM tells party members:

Maintain strict discipline and win trust of people

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on Saturday warned all party members to maintain strict discipline and win the trust of the people adding that four UNP Provincial Councillors and Pradeshiya sabha members who have already been accused of murder, violence and corruption will be severely dealt with and expelled from the party membership at the Disciplinary Committee meeting scheduled to be held on Monday.
