This is a good example for us to follow in dealing with various problems affecting us today and resolve to shed political differences to work for the common good of the country, said Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe when he attended the ceremony to declare open the two storeyed dagoba and the statue of The Buddha's passing away recently constructed at Sri Gangarama Viharaya, Rathganga, Ratnapura. The Premier further said that it is tremendously difficult to run a Government when the Cabinet is led by the Prime Minister and the President belongs to another political party. Yet the Government has successfully achieved this task under a difficult constitution and has paved the way to solve many of our major problems. We have resuscitated a weak economy and have forged ahead with the peace process. We have to take a decision very soon whether we are ending the confrontational politics to march forward or whether we are going to regress by resorting to political party differences, declared premier Wickremesinghe. |
