The annual Mercedes-Benz pageant will be held on Sunday, August 3at the BMICH. Diesel and Motor Engineering Company Ltd (DIMO), the general importer of Mercedes-Benz to Sri Lanka is sponsoring this event for the 12th successive year. This year's pageant is open for anyone who owns a Mercedes-Benz. All you have to do is to drive in your Mercedes-Benz to the BMICH on the day of the pageant from 7.30 a.m. onwards, a DIMO news release said.According to the organisers Mercedes-Benz vehicles will not be judged this year, however gifts will be awarded for the following categories:- The first lady driving in. Oldest car. Kiddies fancy dress parade (please come prepared with your fancy dress outfits). Youngest owner. Largest Mercedes-Benz fleet owner. The annul pageant attracts a large number of participants from all over the country where models from pre-World War II to the very latest will be displayed. The pageant gives an opportunity to all Mercedes-Benz owners to exhibit their cars, share their enthusiasm, exchange knowledge and interact with others with similar interests.As the authorised distributor of Mercedes-Benz in Sri Lanka, DIMO participates in all club events. They offer help and advice to club members, provide their members with information regarding new research and development in the automotive field, distribute the Mercedes-Benz magazine, and help vintage car owners to acquire rare spare parts when needed. The Mercedes-Benz Club considers it a privilege to associate themselves with DIMO, probably the oldest Mercedes-Benz distributor in the world outside Germany. |
