INGRIN Sri Lanka conducts printers seminar in UAE

Premadasa Colour Scan - Dubai, a member of the Premadasa Group in Sri Lanka in association with the Sri Lanka Business Council - Dubai organized the first ever Seminar for the Printing Industry recently at the Crowne Plaza, Dubai. PRINT IN MOTION" held under the joint auspices of the Printing & Publishing Group of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Printers Association was supported by INGRIN Institute of Printing and Graphics in Sri Lanka.

The well attended seminar with executives from every sphere in the printing industry was opened by the Consul General of Sri Lanka, Bandula Somasiri and Ahmed Bin Hassan Al Shaikh, Chairman of the Printers Association.

A team of 8 experts from the INGRIN Institute, linked with the INGRIN Foundation of thhe Netherlands was in Dubai to conduct this Seminar. This panel constituted of highly qualified experts in their respective fields with vast experience in the print industry in Sri Lanka and overseas.

The INGRIN research team found that there is a great potential for offset machine operators, and other personnel for the industry in the UAE and across the Middle East. "To meet this demand INGRIN has prepared a curriculum with an extensive training programme to bring out qualified trained sheet fed offset machine operators to the printing market. This will not only help the participants to find jobs but also offer the printing industry with qualified personnel, with the help of the training and the internationally recognized certification from INGRIN", Chairman Mayantha Dissanayake said.

The INGRIN Foundation of The Netherlands has now linked up with 17 countries all over the world. INGRIN is an institution under thhe Ministry of Tertiary Education and Training and was set up to uplift the standards in the printing industry in Sri Lanka by way of providing study courses, training programmes, workshops, and seminars in the printing and graphics industry.
