Kandy Sports Club heads rugby points table

Kandy Sports Club which scored a hard fought 26-13 win over Havelocks on Saturday continue to head the points table in the Caltex 'A' Division League Rugby Tournament.

The lads from Kandy who remain unbeaten have obtained 28.4 points from seven matches and have scored 89 tries. They have amassed 567 points and conceded only 37 points to the opponents. The Sri Lanka Army remain in second place. They have collected 27.8 points from seven outings. The unbeaten soldiers have touched down on 77 occasions. They have piled up 446 points and given away 36 points to the opponents.

CH and FC which withstood a strong challenge from CR and FC to emerge victorious by 22-14 remain in third position. The lads from Maitland Crescent who too remain unbeaten have obtained 26.9 points and have scored 59 tries. They here amassed 362 points and conceded 66 points to the opponents.

Meanwhile Kurunegala RFC recorded their first win for the season by overcoming old Zahirians 34-15 while Air Force too savoured their first victory by overcoming Kandy youths 28-10 at Nittawala. (R.S)
