The Executive of the Women's Cricket Association of Sri Lanka congratulates the newly elected President of the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka on his decisive victory and expresses their hope for better national and international cricket not only for men but for women as well.

It was Thilanga Sumathipala who guided, encouraged and advised the foundation of women's cricket that led them into the international arena and entry into the International Women's Cricket Council to enjoy full affiliate status.
