By Ananda Kannangara Gampaha District MP and Former Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle and two of his security men were injured yesterday evening when the car in which they were travelling crashed into a three-wheeler at Pallama in the Puttalam electorate. The driver of the three-wheeler was killed on the spot. At the time of the accident Mr. Fernandopulle was travelling from Anamaduwa to his residence at Negombo after attending a funeral at Nikawaratiya. It is said that the three-wheeler had come from a byroad to the main road without making signals. The MP and the other injured men were rushed to the Puttalam Base Hospital and later transferred to the Colombo National Hospital. Meanwhile, when contacted the hospital sources said that the MP had a minor head injury while the other two injured men were also out of danger. |
