Business in brief $ 30 million ADB tea industry development project Reference our caption story '$540 million ADB tea industry development project on May 26, ADB Country Director, John Cooney said that the project cost referred to should be US$ 30 million and not US$ 540 million. The total estimated cost of the project including Government and beneficiary contribution is US$ 114.4 million. Four As revisits AdSkool for newcomers to the ad industry The Accredited Advertising Agencies Association, the ad industry association better known as the Four As, is holding its second annual "Adskool" course for newcomers to the ad industry at the Continental Hotel from June 4 to 6. The course has been designed for young professionals and trainees who are already employed in the ad industry. The course aims to provide a strong grounding on the role of marketing communications in building brands and will take participants through the various aspects of creating integrated marketing communications campaigns. The topics include: What is a brand, Understanding the Client and his Brief, Through-the Line Media, Strategic Planing for Brand Communications, Media Planning, The Big Idea and Presenting the Campaign. The panel of senior professionals from the Four As that will present the course sessions include Nimal Gunewardena, CEO of Bates Strategic Alliance, Rohan Rajaratnam, Director of Triad Advertising, Keith Wijesuriya, Media Director of Thompson Associates and Shardul Shalingram, Creative Director of Minds FCB. New building for Ceylinco Insurance in Galle Ceylinco Insurance, the largest private sector insurer in Sri Lanka, has relocated its Galle branch to a state-of-the-art new building in the southern port city. The new four-storey building providing more than 10,000 square feet is the fourth of its kind. Similar buildings have been built by Ceylinco Life in Negombo, Gampaha and Kurunegala, in addition to the three buildings it owns in Colombo. The company said this is part of a long-term objective of moving its 79-strong branch network into company-owned buildings as far as possible. In order to achieve this, Ceylinco Life has embarked on remarkable property development activities in selected cities. This is another reflection of the company's financial stability and customer focus, a company spokesman said. The new building in Galle will provide customers with the convenience of having all their insurance needs fulfilled at one location. The new branch is located at 60, Colombo Road, Kaluwella, Galle, and is equipped with modern IT facilities and a regional training centre. The building was opened by Solomon Ratnadas, Deputy Chairman of Ceylinco Insurance in the presence of directors of Ceylinco Insurance, senior managers, branch staff and other invitees. |
