News Business Features Editorial Security Politics World Letters Sports Obituaries | We will prevent corrupt politicians from fleeing country - Amunugama The first item On our agenda after forming a new government in a few days is to temporarily close down the Airport for three days in order to prevent the corrupt parliamentarians and Ministers from fleeing the country and bring them before Courts to do justice by the people, said PA Media Spokesman and MP Dr.Sarath Amunugama, addressing a seminar to establish the SLFP politburo in Avissawella, last Sunday. The seminar was held at Salawa Auditorium, Kosgama. It was organized by SLFP Avissawella Chief Organizer and Provincial Council House Leader Sumith Wijayamuni Soysa and chaired by Anura Bandaranaike, MP,the former Speaker of the House. Our coalition with the JVP will definitely see the dawn of the day. The coalition so formed will implement long drawn and short term programmes to push forward the country and its people. We will work for the renaissance of our independence, morals and economic and cultural development. We are determined to restore to our Motherland the lost international fame and glory that was destroyed. Our merger with the JVP assures us of victory in 17 electoral districts to win 120 seats, underscored the former Education and Higher Education Minister Dr. Amunugama. |
