The People's Republic of China Tuesday provided a sum of Rs. two million to provide immediate relief to the flood victims in the Southern, Sabaragamuwa and other Districts of the country. The Chinese Red Cross Society who made this grant requested Sri Lankan Government to utilise the money for the welfare of all flood victims in the affected areas. The Society also sent a special message to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe expressing its condolences to the families who lost their loved ones due to the floods. Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka -China Youth Media Personnel Society has expressed their gratitude to the Chinese Red Cross Society for providing financial assistance to Sri Lanka in its time of need. |
