Rosy Senanayake felicitated

by Nadira Gunatilleke

The contribution made by Sri Lankan women to improve foreign relations is significant. The United National Front Government has increased the number of women in the foreign service, Women's Affairs Minister Amara Piyaseeli Ratnayake said.

She was speaking at a felicitation ceremony held recently. Minister Ms. Ratnayake said that women can do a better job by using their natural hospitality, independent way of expressing ideas and similar qualities. Appointing a woman like Rosy Senanayake who has won a name in the International arena to the post of Sri Lanka Ambassador to Malaysia is a victory for the Lak Vanitha Peramuna.

Ceylon Timber Corporation Chairman Renuka Herath said that the present government treats women in a honourable way by using their talents, professionalism and knowledge for the development of the country.
