Peace Marathon for schools in Negombo

In keeping with the Tata Groups commitment towards community development in the region, the Taj Airport Garden has planned a "Peace Marathon" for tomorrow.

Nirmo Thambapillai, General Manager, Taj Airport Garden, speaking at the Press Briefing held at the hotel, said the importance of this Marathon was two-fold, to bring full meaning to the message of Peace and help the community.

All schools in the Seeduwa-Negombo area are invited to join in the Peace Marathon which will begin from the Bandaranayake Vidyalaya, Mukalangamuwa, the school that has been chosen to benefit from this event. All funds collected would be for the construction of a Computer Room for the school.

Children between the age of 15-19 would be encouraged to take part in this event, which would begin from the Taj Airport Garden, proceed to Negombo Town and back again to the hotel, covering a distance of 12 kms. Around a 125 children would participate in the Marathon, and Breakfast and an award presentation for the winners would be held at the Hotel.
