New shipping service through Colombo Port Cosco/Evergreen/Wan Hai/Hapag-Lloyd will commence the Strait Red-Sea Express Service (SRX Service) through the Port of Colombo from April 13. The first vessel of the new service to call over at the Port of Colombo is MV LT Power of Evergreen. This is a weekly caller which is scheduled to call every Sunday, a Ports Authority spokesman said. The other vessels deployed by the new service are MV QI Yun He (Cosco), MV Wan Hai 262 (Wan Hai), and MV Eagle Express of Hapag Lloyd. The Port rotation is Singapore/Port Kelang/Jeddah/Port Said/Hodaidah/ Tuticorin/Colombo/ Singapore. In a bid to boost its image as the pre-eminent load centre (hub) of South Asia on the advice of Rauff Hakeem, Minister of Ports Development and Shipping, Chairman, Sri Lanka Ports Authority, Parakrama Dissanayake has been spearheading a program to boost service delivery of clients. |
