LG to sponsor all ICC tournaments

LG Electronics of Korea, manufacturers of the world's leading brand of LG home appliances have recently intensified their commitment towards sponsorship of world sporting events particularly Cricket. LG, in a massive sponsorship deal with the ICC, have pledged to sponsor all ICC Tournaments for the next six years including the World Cup and the Mini World Cup.

Abans Limited are the sole agents for LG products in Sri Lanka. With showrooms and dealers throughout the island Abans have promoted and popularized LG products with stringent quality standards, affordable prices and efficient and quick after sales service.

The World Cup is cricket's premier one day international tournament. Held every four years, the 2003 tournament is the eighth of its kind and is the largest World Cup in history. Fourteen teams are competing for one an a half months, playing a record 54 matches for total prize money of US$ 5 million. LG's association with the World Cup signifies a message to their millions of satisfied customers worldwide that nothing but the best is good enough for the best, and the sky is the limit.

As Official Global Partners of the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup LG Electronics will carry out a diverse range of activities to celebrate this great event. In Sri Lanka Abans conducted the LG-Abans World Cup Safari where 30 lucky customers won return air tickets to Africa, accommodation and match tickets to watch Sri Lanka play. Abans also rewarded 80 of their showroom managers and dealers who achieved excellence during the World Cup Safari promotion with air tickets, accommodation and match tickets.

The Sri Lanka Cricket Team have performed magnificently and qualified for the Super Sixes. All Sri Lankans will be wishing our Cricket Team well and hoping that they bring the World Cup home again. Each of the Sri Lanka Cricketers are already proud owners of 29" Flatron Televisions that were presented to them when they won the LG-Abans Champions Trophy Cricket Tournament, in December 2001, against the West Indies in Colombo.
