The Textile Quota Board (TQB) last week announced that all exporters of textile products registered with the TQB are entitled to apply for quotas under the main pool quota scheme for the United States and Canada for 2003. However, the board said the allocation of quota will be on a pro-rata basis for the number of employees in the establishment. 

Commercial hot air balloon service on the cards: Sri Lanka from the skies

Sri Lanka's Tourism will reach for the skies this month with plans being made to launch the country's first commercial hot air balloon.The balloon, one of the largest in the world, is to be operated by Adventure Centre Asia, a pioneering sports and adventure tour company based in Nepal. The company is currently co-organising Sri Lanka's first Adventure Race, scheduled for July this year. Full story
