MTL Mountain Hawk name changed MTL Mountain Hawk (Pvt.) Ltd., the global testing laboratory changed its corporate name to Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd. The Name change reflects the change of ownership of the company to Bureau Veritas, a French Conglomerate with over 500 offices worldwide, a company spokesman said. A year ago, Bureau Veritas acquired the Merchandise Testing Laboratories International (MTL) the group of laboratories which has over 30 labs worldwide to form part of its Consumer Products Services Division along with the ACTS group of laboratories which it had acquired earlier, thus further strengthening its position as one of the two leading testing/inspections/quality services companies in the world. This acquisition will strengthen the reach of the group to better serve its clients worldwide. Ownership of the local company was subsequently transferred to Bureau Veritas in July last year. Management remains unchanged. The company also said that it had obtained accreditation as an Auditing body under the WRAP program which is a widely accepted US based factory accreditation program for social compliance accepted by many US retailers and buyers. |
