ISB enters into new phase of Business Information Services By Charlie Herat ISB entered into an agreement with the Enterprise Information Project (EIP) of GTZ and the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) at the Konrad Adenauer Auditorium of the ISB in Kurunegala for the continuation of the project for another two years. It commenced in 1998. The prime objective of the project is to set up a demand oriented information centre to assist private enterprises to make rational business decisions. It will also cater to the information need of other users such as state sector, Academia and Research organisations. The information will be collected, stored, value added and disseminated as a marketable product. Through the technical and financial assistance of this project, in 2002, the ISB got a local area computer network along with a dedicated telephone line for data transfer and to facilitate the processing, value addition and dissemination of information. 'This new web site of ISB is a result of this contribution. This facility is also available for Wayamba enterprises to have their web sites. Access to a wide range of information available in the Internet through a 24-hour connected dedicated line has greatly enhanced the quality and the value of the work of professional staff of ISB. With the extensive use of e-mail facilities, internal and external communication have also been improved. ISB also offers e-mail and internet facilities to its clients. |
