'Avakasakade.com', a shopping mall in cyberspace, was re-launched last week after a hiatus of nearly 14 months by Lanka Ecom Technologies Ltd (LET).

The new look 'Avakasakade' has the largest number of merchants of all Sri Lankan on-line shopping malls, 120 in all, complemented with a fully automated transaction process enabling speedy clearing of payments.

The products and services available at Avakasakade range from computer hardware/software, consumer electronics, hotels, travels and tours, to flowers, restaurants, supermarkets, tea and gifts .

Payments for telephone bills (land and mobile), insurance premiums, water and electricity bills are among twelve utilities, which can be made via Avakasakade.

Avakasakade.com, was first launched in February 1998 as an operating division of The Golden Key Credit Card Company Ltd. It is today promoted by Lanka Ecom Technologies Ltd (LET), a new dot com company, and member of the Golden Key Group of Ceylinco Consolidated.

LET Executive Director Niranjan Fernando was confident of the new-look Avakasakade's success, given its variety of enhanced features such as its easy to navigate interface, safe and secure payment facility, together with a convenient shipping and delivery service. "Since the re-launch last week, the hits per day have been on an upward trend.

This is indicative of the mall's success among our more than 16,000 customers", he said. Sales Manager at LET Shanaz Sheriff said "Avakasakade.com focusses on providing customers with an ultra satisfying shopping experience.

It utilises unique and innovative search capabilities, which enables shopping by 'key word selection' for a wide range of products in each of the 120 stores".

Additional features include, Order Tracking and Order History information while shopping on line was made very simple and convenient with the Member Registration Service, he said.
