A probe has been initiated by the Education Ministry into last week's Visakha Vidyalaya incident where a group of teachers and students staged a protest campaign inside the school premises against its principal. The protest was against an alleged action by its principal to cancel term test results of several students on the allegation that they had cheated at the exam. Education Minister Karunasena Kodituwakku at a recent media conference said that he detailed two senior officials to hold an initial inquiry into the incident the same day (Thursday), where the principal agreed not to cancel the results. "The principal has not yet been charge-sheeted. The National Schools Director has been ordered to submit a report. I am awaiting his report to take a decision," the Minister said. (MF)
