Tissamaharama Police took out a body of a baby from a latrine pit at Gonagamuwa in Tissamaharama Police area. The suspect, a mother of five children aged thirty six years has been taken into custody in this connection by Tissamaharama Police. The body was unearthed in the presence of the Acting Magistrate Tissamaharama Gamini Ananda and was sent to Karapitiya Teaching Hospital for further investigations. On interrogation by Police the suspect had revealed that she gave birth to this child at her home and put the baby in a basin of water after which the baby died. OIC Tissamaharama Police Prabath Deshabandu and a team of police officers are investigating further. |
