Kallis century helps South Africa get 250/5 DURBAN, South Africa, Friday South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis said he had to work hard for his 11th Test century as his team fought back after a poor start on the first day of the first Test against Pakistan at Kingsmead on Thursday. Kallis scored 104 not out as South Africa, who were sent in to bat in heavily overcast conditions, reached 250 for five when bad light stopped play 14.3 overs early. "The ball was doing something all day, so you never felt really in," said Kallis. "It was a day when your technique had to be very tight. It was great to get my first century in Durban on one of the bounciest pitches in the country." |
