Nineteen countries for Imexpro 2003 trade fair in Colombo

Imexpro 2003- a major International Fair to promote imports and exports will be held from March 30 to April 1 at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre, Colombo.

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, the senior Chamber in Sri Lanka which will be will be celebrating 164 years of service to the business community in March 2003, will bring down International and Sri Lankan business associates to IMEXPRO 2003. It will coincide with the Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Co-operation (IOR-ARC) meeting to be held in Colombo from March 29 to April 3.

The partner organisations that are joining the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce in presenting this grand trade fair include the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sri Lanka Export Development Board and Board Investment of Sri Lanka.

The products and services that will be promoted at the exhibition are: aquaculture and ornamental fish, airline industry, boats and yachts, computer and IT related services, coconut products, coffee, communication services, culinary products, dairy products, electronic, electrical and engineering products, finance and banking, fruits and vegetables, floriculture, footwear, food and beverages, furniture, wooden, CKD and metal, gems and jewellery, gift and home products, handloom, home furnishing and handicrafts, insurance, medicinal herbs and ayurvedic products, motor vehicles and accessories, machinery, pharmaceuticals, plastic products, poultry and meat products, porcelain, ceramic and glass products, printing and packaging material, rubber and rubber products, shipping and freight forwarding services, silk products, soft toys, seafood, stationery, telecommunication, tourism and travel industry, tiles, floor and wall, textiles, apparel and garment accessories, tea, spices and essential oils, wooden toys and wooden products. PARTICIPATION

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, will source a wider spectrum of international participants through its 22 Bilateral Business Councils and the Business Interest Groups in the following countries: Australia, Benelux, Canada, Nordic countries, Europe, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, United Kingdom. Participnts will also be mobilised through the Sri Lanka Missions Overseas and overseas Chambers.

Visitors to the exhibition will be from the 19 countries participating in the IOR-ARC Annual Conference: Australia, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kenya, Madagascar, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mozambique, Oman, Seychelles, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand, UAE and Yemen. Visitors will also include the Sri Lankan business community, overseas buyers/sellers, exhibitors (local and foreign) and the general public.
