Aussies all set to go 4-up against England

Elmo Rodrigopulle reporting from Australia....

Australia are all set to go 4-0 up in the five Test series against England by beating them in the Fourth Test which begins at the MCG on Boxing Day.

Australia won the first three Tests in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth without raising much of a sweat. Most of the interest in this Test is centred on skipper Steve Waugh and whether the Aussie selectors will allow him further reign as captain if he wins this and the final Test in Sydney.

If Waugh is to retain his captaincy and continue his wonderful as skipper then only centuries in both tests can save and prolong his career.

At the moment Waugh is unworried of beating Australia because that can be easily done. His target at the moment is to impress and have his name pencilled in Australia's World Cup squad to defend the World Cup won under his captaincy in England in 1999.

Unfortunately for Waugh he is unable to show his prowess of old with the bat because when he comes in to bat Australia have already run up huge match winning score and it is time to declare. So his chances of impressing the selectors are very little.

As for Australia they are on a roll winning the three previous tests and also the three one-day games. They will miss their match winning leg spinner Shane Warne, but will have an adequate replacement in Stuart MacGill who can be a difficult proposition on his day.

The Australian batting machine is all set to smash the England bowlers again, while the bowlers spearheaded by Glen McGrath and Brett Lee will have the England batsmen fighting for survival. The Aussie fielding is tops and another exhibition of what fielding is all about is in store.

As for England they are having one, if not the worst tours in the history of the game. They brought in several injured players and have also had the misfortune of players suffering injuries at practice or when doing their thing out in the middle.

Michael Vaughn and Mark Butcher return to the side and it is hoped that along with skipper Husain, Trescothick and Robert Key they will try to salvage the innings. As for the bowlers England will rely on Caddick, Harmison and Richard Dawson to curb the Aussie run spree.

Paceman Alex Tudor has still not recovered from the bouncer he took above the eye from Brett Lee. Another record breaking win for Aussies is on the cards.
