by Piliyandala group correspondent During the election period we were divided and running an ideological war on different opinions. It is only a battle limited to words. But during the last twenty years there was an unending highly destructive war among our own countrymen, sacrificing thousands of valuable lives young and old, said Gamini Lokuge, Minister of Tourism. He said so delivering the inauguration speech at the ceremonial opening of a mobile services project at Abhayanandanaramaya, Moragodawatta, Makandana, Piliyandala. He said: "We can now think, talk and work in peace because of our ceasefire agreement and followup peace attempts. " now there is peace, even temporarily due to our efforts. Those who were in the battlefield are now in the conference table. "We have many differences, race, religion, language, caste, creed etc.etc. For awhile we should forget all these and get-together and work for the development of the country. We have now our Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe who has shown a great example to all of us. As an aspiring nation we should follow him. .'What we are doing today is a mobile services project. We politicians of different parties, public officers, religious leaders get-together and impart our abilities and knowledge for the common good. We have brought the public services into your doorstep. "Anybody in need of passports, birth certificates, identity cards can get them and solve their problems from the officers dealing with the respective matters.
