John Keells launches Global Executive Program

John Keells Institute, the premier IT training institution in the country launched the John Keells Global Executive Program (JKGEP), which has been specially put together for working professionals who are aspiring to reach great heights in their careers. JKGEP, a two-year program in Information Technology enables the participants to obtain the BTEC HND in Computing which leads to the final year of a BSc (Hons) Degree in IT.

On successful completion the participants will obtain the BTEC Higher National Diploma in Computing from Edexcel International, UK's leading certification and awarding body, and the G-Tech Advanced Diploma in Information Technology from Tata Infotech, India. The program also seeks to address vital common skills such as managing tasks and problem solving, communication, teamwork as well as design and creativity. Participants then have the option of completing their BSc (Hons) degree by taking the final year.

The final year can be taken in the UK at Universities that have an articulation agreement with JKI such as Northumbria University, Middlesex University and the South Bank University, as well as a host of other Universities in the UK. JKI is at present working with the Northumbria University to provide the final year in Colombo soon.

As a leading corporate trainer working with a host of leading companies, the Institute said that there are individuals at every level of business with amazing drive and desire to contribute to the success of their organisation. Some of these individuals who are stable in their current positions are without a basic degree, which might hinder their progress in the corporate ladder. JKGEP is the ideal program for such professionals.

A few individuals have been driven to work because of personal commitments including financial constraints. This program allows the individual to continue with the job while studying towards obtaining a vital qualification that would put them ahead in the future. An undergraduate qualification will be a minimum requirement for a successful career in the future.

The program is structured in such a way that an individual could easily self-finance the program with flexible payment schemes depending on their spending capacity. For individuals who need financial assistance, the Institute has set up a financial assistance package through the Nations Trust Bank.
