Sub-Committee to safeguard government auditors

Steps are being taken for the special welfare of government auditors. They face various difficulties when discharging their duties including threats to their lives. Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Alhaj A. H. M. Azwer said that this matter has been brought to the attention of the Speaker.

The Auditor General Mayadunne has detailed various difficulties faced by his officers when performing their duties honestly. The Law should protect them from any form of threats and attacks.

During the Parliamentary Group Leader's gathering a Sub-Committee has been appointed under the leadership of former Education Minister, Richard Pathirana, Minister Azwer, Puttalam District MP, Mary Larine Perera and TULF MP, D. Siddarthan.
